As the cyber era elevates, it is harder and harder for musicians, entertainers, and creators to make a profit off of their work, many things can be illegally found on the internet today. How can one start a project with no funding? Loans are good ideas! What if I am too young and don’t have the credit score needed. You could also ask for someone to fund you, what do you need? $20,000? No problem. The chances of that happening are extremely slim. That’s why technology created crowd funding. It’s a new way to virtually ask people for money, anywhere from 1 dollar to 100, 200, or 1000 dollars. You are not begging someone for money, you will just should them your ideas, and they will then choose whether they want to fund you or not. Also, in return for their collaboration, you will provide them some sort of product or service.
After researching about the different websites that promote crowd funding, I have found the best one is Patreon.com. Compared to any other crowdfunding, with Patreon you will always “get the money” promised. For most crowdfunding you need to state a goal, for example, “I need $1,000 in a week”. If you have not reached the goal you stated, YOU WILL NOT GET ANY MONEY. With Patreon, the funding is different. People will pledge to pay you monthly, $5, $10, $100, any amount they like. This will be paid to you monthly. You may also set a goal, however, the goal does not need to be reached on order to obtain the money. Also, as I mentioned before, some sort of service or product needs to be given to the funders. All varies with the amount of money pledged.
What I like most about this site is that you are not limited to just getting paid one a month. If you are an artist and create products two or three times a month, you can change the funding times. Instead of getting paid every month, you can say that you will get paid every time you create something. Just don’t forget that every time you get paid you need to give as well.
